I pay my bills working as a network engineer. However, I've always loved photography, but sadly fell out of it during college due to time and cost constraints. After a long hiatus, in April 2002 I revived my passion when I purchased a used Canon D30 that gave me the flexibility of an SLR yet ease of a digital. Since then I've collected an assortment of lenses and lighting equipment and have been having a blast experimenting and learning.
A lot of my initial use of the D30 has been in nightclub photography. I eventually killed the D30's shutter taking so many photos. Now I shoot with a Canon 1D (field work where speed is more important) and a Canon 1Ds Mark II for the more 'serious' stuff (studio, etc) with my old 1Ds Mark I for backup.
I am thick skinned; to learn one must accept and understand all criticism, good or bad.
As to PhotoSIG -- I believe that to learn one must actually critique, not simply trade thumbs. Thus, I don't simply leave thumbs; if I don't have something substantive to say, I won't comment at all.
