I live in South Africa. I have been shooting digital since 2002, first with point and shoots. Early in 2008 I bought a good entry-level digital SLR and then my learning curve really began. Crop factor, histograms, shutter speed, exposure, F stops, ISO settings, mirror lockup, RAW and all the things that the camera had previously done for me.
Being semi-retired I had time to spend hours and days studying graphic design, photographic techniques, and analysis and critique of photographs in books and on some of the great internet sites available. This wonderful journey has opened my eyes to the incredible beauty around us, some of which is found in very humble places.
