Grew up in SoCal. Now living in Kentucky. Took a college photog class. Learned a lot from professors and peers back them - like you can use grease on side of your nose to mask dust marks on negatives when enlarging. But, darn, that does not work on my CCD sensor :) Love the desert, mountains, beaches, and the woods....but you will also see me taking pics of unique and abused storefronts. I actually called my first one-man show "Used Views" because it was all about abandoned buildings. I learned you can't duplicate Ansel Adams with a 35mm film camera - and it's still hard to do it with a sensor that's even smaller than a 35mm negative, but those histograms are a tool Ansel never had to actually empirically analyze an exposure...so I am on a quest to render the max amounts of stops possible in a b&w image rendered from a dslr. It still won't approach the details possible with a 4x5 but it's a lot easier ! I also do other stuff like ride my bicycle many many (1000+) miles a year, and take my sons across the SE US as they compete in junior golf tournaments. I'm using photoSIG to post marginal and experimental photos, and photos I am having trouble with, in an attempt to solicit other ideas and advice on them.
