I live in Madison, Wisconsin USA where I am a university researcher. My interests include photography, reading and book collecting, and bicycling. I have shot 35mm for many years, and have only recently entered the realm of digital photography. I borrowed my wife's CoolPix on a February 2007 trip to India, and became totally hooked. I had been saving my money, so bought a Nikon D80, but soon decided to take a deeper plunge and acquired a D300.
This site is fantastic, and I've learned a great deal from the critiques and forums. One of my most exciting moments was to reach 1000 points and have my first photo reach the main page on the same day in December 2007. Alright, maybe I get too easily excited.
