From NE Pennsylvania Coal Country, I'm just your every day commerical, personal philosopher / advertising agency, web design, and, more than occasional, wedding, aerial and architectural photographer who stops down, quite often, especially when getting the urge to do so. In the past, I was mostly too cheap (frugal) to purchase most Canon L lenses. I used to get by mostly with some fast primes including the Canon ef 20mm f/2.8 usm, ef 85mm f/1.8 usm, ef 35mm f/2.0 and ef 50mm f/1.4 usm. For wide angle Wedding end event photography I enjoyed using my Canon ef-s 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, perfect for the 1.6 crop factor cameras like the 20D, 30D and 40D. For general purpose and for macro shots of medium to large flowers I enjoy using my Tamron SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD ASPH (why can't these manufacturers come up with simpler numbers?) which works quite satisfactorily on my digital EOS 20D, EOS 30D, EOS 40D and EOS 300D Rebel (I ditched the 18-55 pos that came with the kit).

Over the past four years, with the help of Photosig, Pbase, Shutterfly and Photostockplus my photography, advertising and web business has grown quite steadily and I have had to purchase new equipment and I had to end my days as a cheapskate. As far as lenses go, I now buy only L lenses including the ef 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM and the ef 35mm f/1.4 L. I have just recently received the Canon EOS 5D MK2 and have just begun to post some photos from that new camera.

I really enjoy posting my photos, the good and the questionable, here at PhotoSig. For the most part, the critiques on my photographs have been more than fair. Usually they get rated higher than I would rate them myself. But most importantly, I learn something from every critique.... about photography and the world in general. I sincerely appreciate all those folks who comment and critique my work. And I wish to make a special thanks to all those who write to me and share photographic experiences of a technical, artistic or personal nature.
