I like this shot Jacline. The dark sky fits with the overall mood set by the crumbling structure. The diffuse lighting also made for nice color rendition and no harsh shadows. The focus is good and I think you did a nice job on the HDRI- I especially like how the greenery is visible through the large window opening. Nick

The lighting is nice in this shot and the subjects show well against the background. The focus looks a little soft on the head and leading wing, which lowers the impact for me. Composition-wise, consider rotating the image clockwise a little to give it a more of a diagonal presentation. In the future it will be easier for critics to comment on your work if you post at a larger size so we can get a better look at the details. Nick

The subject in this shot has a nice smile and looks completely comfortable in front of the camera, which is good. I also like the eye contact. The lighting looks a little strong and has produced some shine on her face that you may be able to improve in post. Also consider cropping up from the bottom to more of a square format, which I think will focus attention more to her face and smile. Nick

I am OK with the HDRI in black and white and realize that it is a way to make the contrast more vibrant- and I think it probably did here. I also like the subject and the crisp focus and ample DOF. I am put off though by some of the artifacts of this type of processing, such as haloing, which is quite pronounced along the upper line of the elements in the frame. Nick

This setting has the potential to make for a touching scene, but unfortunately I can neither see the subjects faces nor what they are looking at, so it is really hard for me to connect with them. Nick

A very nice floral shot. I like how the flower pops from the background and the level of detail you obtained. I normally am not fond of a centered main subject like this, but here it works well for me. There seems like a little extra space all around though, so consider a slightly tighter crop. Nick

This macro falls pretty far off the mark for me. Despite stopping down to f/16, the DOF is shallow and only part of the frame is in focus. The harsh and uneven lighting further contribute to a loss of detail in the flower. Finally the composition is in between a close up and full view such that the petals are cut off in three directions, yet you left considerable empty space on the right. The large iris is a difficult flower to photograph, but there are some good...

This is a very nice shot and a tough one to get due to the number of roses that you had to get in focus- the DOF you utilized did the job nicely. You also managed to keep the background smooth and uncluttered, again not an easy task. The soft, diffuse lighting worked well, but consider maybe adding a little more highlight to get a little better petal separation. Nick

I like this image, it is bright and colorful. But the focus and sharpness on the bird is somewhat lacking and that lowers the impact for me some. Nick

The unusual composition sets this portrait apart from most of the rest and makes it special. The eye contact and great focus and detail on the eagle's face are all well done. While the eagle shows well against the white/gray background a different color would give the shot more punch, but not much you could have done about that. Nick

This one is a wall hanger Doug. You achieved great DOF and I can see and appreciate the texture of the horns and the entire coat of the sheep. The lighting was good and the background complements the main subject without being intrusive in any way. This is personal taste, but maybe just a slightly lower shooting angle would have been nice. I really like this shot Ron. The lighting is very nice and thus the colors are deep and beautiful. The pose you captured gives you the best of both worlds: a nice view of the feather pattern on the folded wings and a clear view of the face and eye as the kestrel looks back at you. The vertical framing is also a natural fit for the scene. Well seen and photographed. Nick

I really like the soft colors in this shot. The texture of the rose petals is very nice, but IMO the image needs to be sharped some to bring it out to its full potential. I know this is a matter of taste, but composition-wise because of the way the rose is "facing" I would have preferred more space on the left and maybe the top. Nick

A beautiful shot with great lighting and good focus and DOF so I can see and enjoy the texture on the petals and the details of the water droplets. The dark background with the concentric water rings is also pleasing, but there is a little too much of it IMO. Consider cropping in a little from the left and maybe the top. Nick

You got good eye contact with this shot and I like the ceremonial dress and "makeup". But for a just married shot they lack obvious happiness, which is pretty important to me for a shot like this. Also the guy in the background texting on his phone doesn't add positively to the mood. Maybe you should crop him out. Nick
