Nice, dramatic light, central composition ok here. Perhaps with a slightly tighter crop, shoving the birds a bit towards the lower left corner?

Hi Jonathan, I'm sorry I'm going to have to give thumbs down to your good effort. With your explanation I can see where you were going, but unfortunately this picture doesn't quite deliver. I suggest you concentrate on one subject at a time, i.e. have a main point of interest. Blurry leading lines can be a good thing sometimes but in this case the boat doesn't do the job, IMO. Anyway, keep on playing! You're on to something here.

Hi Chris, for me this picture works well. I understand the critisism presented in the previous entries. However, I disagree with them when it comes to this particular picture. Ravens (or is it a crow?) are mysterious creatures and your tight crop does justice to this mystery. I also like the idea of "hiding" the birds' head, it really makes this picture special. Well done!

Hi Michal, this is fantastic! I love his expression. He seems so absent, yet he is very much present. You shot this picture at precisely the right moment. And this edit works much, much better than your first version.

David, this is very interesting. It caught my attention immediately. However, it might even be too minimalistic in the end, lacking some real interest point. Also, I think it would do better without the white area in upper left. Still, well done!

I like the general idea. His contact with you and us through you is very strong. Love it. But I can't help being distracted by the light coming from the background and the back of his head is the lightest spot in this picture. In my opinion you should have cut down the amount of light coming from the back. Or positioned him face to light.

Hi Dena, this is a strong, almost haunting image. It might have some issues and flaws that have been pointed out in the previous critiques. To me, in this particular case, those flaws are insignificant and secondary. Her face and her life... so much more important than composition, shutter speed, pp and such.

What I do like is the car, the reflections and colours. It has a nice and peaceful feeling to it. What I don't like is the background. It simply doesn't go together with this wonderful piece of machinery. Perhaps a tighter crop or a reshoot with a slightly different angle would improve this part of the picture. Anyway, a very nice picture.

You did very well with the exposure. Wonderful colors and an interesting theme, very rich in detail. And yes, I do think you should straighten the horizon. After that this would be no less than two thumbs up :-)

This image makes me want a better screen... I like it a lot. It has a very nice feeling, you can sense the moment when this was shot so well. Well done!

In my opinion your overall idea is good. Unfortunately it doesn't quite deliver, the story remains unclear. Maybe if we could see more detail in the darkness? Patterns, wall structure etc? Just my idea.

This subject has great potential but your picture of it is still on the snapshot level. I, too, suggest different angles or crops. Lighting is good, though. Since you call it a fair I suppose there are other sculptures, as well. I hope you can go back and take more shots. Looks like an interesting place!

Although the division into thirds is good, I don't like the overall postcard feel too much. I agree with the previous critique about the centering.

This is very nice. I like the composition and the low angle works really well. However, my first impression was that there is something missing. Maybe there should be something at the end of tracks, where one's eyes are drawn?
