Unfortunately for me personally.. the crop of the image ruins the image for me. It almost looks like you have clicked the zoom tool and cropped where ever it landed. Because so much is hidden from the frame this makes the pose of the model very difficult to see, which leads to confusion. I think you need (other than a little more space all round) to make the frame longer and have more of her shoulder visible.. This would also in turn bring her eyes to a compositional...

Hey, Im going to disagree with the breathing comments as for me the crop is fine, but I do think what may help give that feel of space is if her head was very slightly towards camera (a fraction) then the eyes wouldn't be straining as much.. Im sure this would help the image breathe..
Just my thoughts

Hi
Im going to be honest as always in my opinion (they are just opinions) but the image has not inspired me. I find a little more work could be done with the lighting, I feel gone are the days when a pure black background with a girl can constitute for an artistic impression. To me she is floating in black space with no surrounding, put people in a place..not space. My thoughts are to just let your imagination run wild use shadows.. no doubt she is perfectly lit, but...

A challenge is always nice...
I feel the image has too many light tones to it.. One way to create serious is to darken an image. Along with a little more contrast I think you would have it made! Just needs that little more depth to give it power.
Maybe a little less cropped down the bottom (ie more right shoulder, just a touch though) Makings of a awesome shot... cool
Hope helps

This is probably going to sound really unhelpful... but I'm not sure if something is missing from the shot? I dont know if it is the white is too white or if it needs some (even just a slight suggestion) colour from a gel or something. I definitely know where your coming from with the shot it has a great potential.. I'd also like to see a little more texture in the cloak, from shadows or something, but thats just me.
Hope helps

I can agree with the first crit, this kind of shot would massively be improved by the use of a location. The white is just so clinical against the ruggedness of the subject.. I think maybe even if you had of tried the shot with a less high key background approach or a grey/black background... Also, I'm asuming the hay bale made one hell of a mess getting in and out of the studio..... So why not help it, I think if you'd of thrown some hay around a little and made more...

Great portrait! I love the character that has been shown here, It kind of won me over with a dark children's shot as a posed to all the high key shots you see everywhere. The tones are nice and bold and even tho it is dark, it still has a nice warmth to it. I do think I would of liked to see the crop slightly longer/taller or maybe even completely square? But wow! nice shot!

I wonder how this world look with not such a dark background.. I think the solid black lacks a little texture, maybe you could throw some light and shadows around back there to create something? Otherwise a great start!

Wow I can only agree with first critique... The Flow of tones from deep shadow to the highlights is amazing and so even through the whole image! The pose is lovely and enticing into the frame. Definitely something I am working towards in my lighting work.. great shot!

A nice idea on the Peter Pans shadow thing.. I think I may of composed the shot in landscape and had the shadow stretching out away from her a little more? Her actual arm is crossing over the shadow too. I find working on black really difficult as unless its done perfectly it sometimes looks bad, specially with colour balance... You have made a good colour balance in this shot! Exposure is fine , maybe a little plain, for this type of shot you can afford to mix it up a...

If I'm honest, I preferred the original images you posted.. I liked the warmer colours and the summery feel it had. As I said in my last critique (which I think was too late before your edit) the main thing I would of like to see change in the image was a lower contrast, lose a few of the blacks.. Then I'm sure it wold of beeb a real nice shot.
Aside from that I think the posing of the girls and location are great well done.
Sorry for being too late

I love the ideals behind this shot. The mood is there in abundance, that summery glow, sun bursting through the back lights. The bright colours are well used. My main thing that I believe would turn this image into something real nice would be to lower the contrast.. lots.. I love my summery images to be flared and soft.. the high contrast of this shot really spoils the effect. It hardens the image too much. Why not try playing with the curve see what happens?
Of...

I like this shot in respect of composition and lighting on the models face. I do feel that the background is losing her shoulders slightly? Maybe in need a little less darkening of the shadows on her jacket would help, the same goes for her right arm, the shadows are a little too deep (at least on my monitor)
A real nice portrait with great contact from the sitter

Nice energy! This shot has a real spark and make you want to smile (back)! The lighting is lovely and detail is great. I dont know if a slightly larger aperture could of helped soften the duvet in bg, but not a massive issue.
I dont know if I would of framed the shot so her head is a little further to the left, which would also give the image more torso? maybe but only slightly.
The models pose is nice, playful and inviting... and looks real and not staged, nice one!

Unfortunately for me this photograph is a miss. I'm a little unsure of what the idea was for the mirroring, but I find it a big distraction. Although one point for attention to detail as you have photoshopped out one of the cigarette ends from the left image to offset the mirror.
The lighting is unoffensive but flat, maybe the image need something to give it some drama, lighting may be the key?
The model her self is fine and has a nice look, though in need of a...
