It is extremely difficult to shoot a good photo in that museum. Everything is so big that you need a very wide lens to get a complete capture. Then you're faced with the inclusion of many elements not related to your shot. Not far behind that is the bad lighting. Then, lastly, it depends on how many people are there and how much they get in your way. :)
I like that you simply chose to go with a close up. I shot the shuttle when I was there in March/April. Sadly, I...

Not sure which is more offensive:
1. That you took a "peep" shot of an unsuspecting female,
or
2. That you haven't written a critique since 2009 and you have posted way more photos than critiques.
Certainly, combined that adds up to 3TD because they are both highly offensive.

I like it. I like the overall impact of it. However, for me, I'd like to see the base of the stem. It just seems like it's missing. I also think it's a tad bit oversharpened. Other than that, however, I like the action you captured with the splash and the drops are nicely placed.

I saw your original post from the forums and then noticed you had submitted your photo here for critique. To have been shooting at ISO 12800 and still having such a long exposure, there must have simply been almost zero light.
I shot Alcatraz at night and most of my exposures were 15sec to 1min at f/8 to f/13 at ISO 100 and I got nice very even lighting. I'm not sure if I have any here on SIG but will check.
I think that you overcompensated and there is too much...

Lois said pretty much everything that I could say. I will add that I find this very successful as an abstract and see commercial potential blown up on a large sized print for a wall. My eyes and brain keep wanting to turn it vertical, but I think it belongs horizontal as displayed. Good photo.

I like this; could be a nice stock photo with the negative space on the bottom. You do have some specks (I'm guessing some stray light reflections) on the bottom. I might work with levels to see if I could punch it up just a bit. Really nice job of keeping that vertical bar perfectly vertical. Maybe close out whatever that white blog is halfway up the far right side. Cheers.

The aperture and shutter speed doesn't make sense if they are accurate. There has been a great deal of post processing done to this image and it really looks way to artificial for me. Aside from the fact that the motion blur gives me a headache, the surrealism just doesn't work for me.

While I'm not a fan of the all white background, I think you've done a very nice job with the exposure. There is plenty of detail and plenty of depth in the shot. I like the playful pose. She seems like a happy model. I might back off on the skin smoothing just a little bit, but in these types of shots, I don't have a real problem with smooth skin. I think the crop is just a little too tight on the right side by her elbow. Overall, nice work.

Excellent control of using a process like HDR. Frankly, it's about as well done as I've seen in regards to keeping the realism of the photo intact. I'm only taking off the coveted "3TU" because I don't like the flare beside her left hand and there are still a couple of hotspots towards the tail. It's still an excellent shot though. :)

I love street art and agree that it's a bonus when you can incorporate something into the shot so that it's not just a direct capture of someones work. I would probably crop it even more so vertically from the bottom...maybe just to the point that the guy appears to be walking on the bottom frame. Just a suggestion. Cheers.

Hi. Interesting choice for your point of focus and probably the right decision. I'm not a big fan of tilted shots; they just seem so very unbalanced and I find myself leaning my head over while looking at the shot.
How much of that defocused area has been enhanced in post-process? There's something unnatural about it. It's especially apparent around the guys shirt which seems too blueish in tone.
I like the shot overall, but not exactly sold on the framing and...

First, I like the pose. I agree with the feet being cut off at the bottom and that's my reasoning for the 1TU, but I like the surreal look. The haziness of the scene, with the blueish glow from the lights just adds a nice element. I don't mind the fact that the image is soft. Frankly, I think the softness is a good element here. I did notice a spot on the lower left of the photo that appear to be someone elses shoulder or other obstruction that could be cleaned up.
I...

The Eiffel Tower may well be one of the most overshot landmarks in the world; with good reason. It's fairly unique, there's a lot of history behind it, and it's so large, that it can be seen and shot from so many vantage points. For me, what separates one shot from the others is to find a photo that even if only in a small way, is unique from the other millions of photos out there.
Here, you've got a good start. Sure, it's a vantage point that has been shot over and...

Never saw the original. On this shot, +2 on the pose. +2 on the detail, although it does look a little weird on the lower right area of the shirt where there is shadowing. +2 on the inclusion of the microphones. Good job there. -100 on the text. It's red, a distraction and unimaginative. Your photo is good enough that the text is unnecessary. What's the black horizontal bar on the bottom. It's too perfect which leads me to believe it's an separately included element or...

You have posted 9 photos which have received a total of 16 critiques thus far. However you have not written a single critique for others. To make it even worse, you haven't rated a single critique as helpful. If that doesn't make your continued posting of photos "Offensive and repugnant", I don't know what will.
This site lives on "give and take". You've taken a lot. When will you give?
