Interesting photo, Scott
and I find your portfolio in general very interesting - your photos and eye seem to continuously improve!!
Regarding this photo: I love the interplay of lines and geometrical shapes. The B&W works well and exposure has been very well handled.
My one concern is that my little brain is a little overwhelmed by the complexity and I would suggest simplifying the photo a little by cropping at the left past the pole at the bottom of the frame,...

Hi Sasha
This is a very interesting and unusual photo - I like it. The wide angle lens gives a lot of detail on the ducks whilst including a very intersting natural and human background to the duck colony. I also like the vibrant colours in the ducks against the largely white background.
PS: which town is this?

Very nice abstract, Doug.
It evokes the image of a shore-line with a palm for me. i like the colours and the composition is very good.
PS: your portfolio is generally very good and very varied.

A very attractive portrait with excellent fill-in lighting. I like the composition. TI also like the pastel background colours complementing the colour scheme of the model's clothing.

Very interesting, Igor.
The expressions and postures are priceless. The photo keeps one interested. Interesting abstract insertions and framing. The only aspect which does bother me a little is the lower right arm and hand of the man which somehow look un-natural and also too large.

Nice photo, juxtaposing the old world against the new. The atmosphere is great and colours are good. Would have preferred a slightly lower angle and a fraction to the right so that the harbour cranes move out of the net.

Hi Peter
I like the painting effect introduced by the HDR image. Colours are good. Composition is simple, but works with the diagonal emphasizing movement. I would have preferred a little more space on top.
Thanks for sharing.

I like this street photograph a lot. The expressions tell a lovely story. Due to the panning the riders on the bike pop out of the photo. The panning itself is very well done with the rider being very sharp and the background nicely motion-blurred.

An excellent industrial photo (and there are few of those on photosig), Doug.
I would have given it 3TU, but I think the composition could still be improved by putting the wheel assembly dead-center in the photo and have the surrounding (ladder, pipes, cement bag, ...) break the symmetry.

Hi Pumpkin
Sorry for the 1TD, but for me the photo has some serious flaws. The colours are washed out and un-natural. Firstly, I find that the composition with the tree does not work. The tree hides areas which might be of core interest and is not well positioned in the composition. Putting the camera lower to the ground would pull the braches of the tree above the cliff, providing a type of framing for the cliff - could perhaps work better. The lighting is very...

This is an interesting photo and I think it deserves a couple of critics, though I am not certain that i am the right person to critique it. I'll give it a shot anyway:
Any photo containing another work of art is always difficult. You have composed an art-work around pieces of art. Your composition is based on an interesting combination of geometric shapes and a lot of black space. This decouples the viewer from our world and immerses the silhouettes (which are very...

Hi Sebastian
A very well executed classical waterfall photo. The composition is very good. So are the colours and detail and the exposure time is well chosen to still retain a reasonable amount of fine grained detail in the water whist conveying the perception of movement.
Could go on a wall => 3TU

I think I like this photo, but I am still trying be sure :).
What I can say is that I am repetitively drawn back to it. It keeps the viewer puzzled. I like the colours, the composition, the different elements dragging one's attention, the shadows and also the transition in the paints.

Agree with the previous reviewer that the colour one is better. The colours have a 1960's film colour feel to it which I like. The extra room infront of the ship and seeing more of the second ship coming in also improves the photo.
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice photo, CR
The sde lighting is perfect, very effectively bringing out the patterns in the sand. I like the composition with the positioning of the grass tuft wrks well. The viewer is drawn from the bottom left corner over the grass tuft to the lighter top right corner. Exposure and depth of field are also good.
