The photo holds my attention in large part due to the unique subject. The technical elements are well managed. I would have liked to see the upper left not clipped but it looks like that might have introduced over exposure issues. I assume that the subject is a sculpture that has no other purpose. Care to share where the object exists? Thanks for sharing. Bill

I like the photo a lot and wonder if the blue green element in the upper part is actually a reflection of the lower blue green column? Any explanation for the blue green occurring within the yellow cap would be apprecaiated. Regards. Bill

The photo is noteworthy and the group of four adds interest. I find that groups of three (odd number) can be more interesting than two or four. Whether you added water mist to form the drops or found naturally, the roses show nicely. Seems like a nice DOF with the central bloom in primary focus. Unstated aperture might have been stopped down further to improve apparent focus on the other blooms. Very nice but no quite a WOW for me. I like it a lot. TFS. Bill

I do not find the background interesting or beneficial in this case. I would have used an aperture closer to the maximum (f3.5 for your lens) so as to reduce the DOF. Small things like the door frame under his left arm would not appear so distinct and a bit distracting. The roof line above his right shoulder is unfortunately connecting to his head and hat. TFS. I like the photo as a documentary as it shows off the inventory and shows the men waiting for a customer. I find in amusing that the one empty chair has a pair of sandals; I wonder where the man went without them. I might crop some from the left side as that part is not important to the composition and story. Cropping the odd rug from the right side is also an option. TFS. A nice photo. Bill

I like the photo a lot and can not think of anything that would make it more impressive for me. It is a strong 2TU and this morning my reaction was WOW. Providing EXIF info would be worthwhile. I'll wait to see if others have suggestions but it is interesting and the amount of flash is just right in my opinion. TFS. Bill

I like the photo of your son. The light vertical area on the left is a bit distracting and I would crop it away even though your son is highly centered in the image. If it were my photo, I would crop the light area from the left and crop from the right to try to move the subject as much off center as practical. If you like vignettes, you could try post processing in that direction. Happy Fathers Day. Bill

Nice photo. NO critiques? I suggest a very slight white balance adjustment as I think that the jacket is more white than the slight overall yellow cast to the photo. Nice background location. You need to start critiquing on photosig. Bill

I like the model and the pose. I accept the choice of cutting into the head. I do not like setting the elbow on the lower right frame. I am curious about the aperture selected - suspecting f4. Strong 1TU for me. Bill

I like the photo and it is a better effort than 1TU for me. The vignette is a good choice and the umbrella with lace pattern is appealing. It looks like sharpening after resizing for photosig would be beneficial since her face, hair and necklace are not as sharp, as I would like to see. The whiteness of the dress looks correctly captured - not grayish. The direct flash is okay but off camera flash would have improved the photo in my opinion. I suggest posting camera and...

The photo is appealing and I believe that I understand the general objective of taking the photo for your job. There area things that I would change: I would not cut the raspberry colored item on the left nor the the black drop on the right. I would increase the aperture to f5.6 or f8 to increase the DOF (increasing the number of things in focus or nearly so). I would use a tripod to get rock solid and obtain sharp focus and eliminate or greatly reduce camera shake. Also,...

The photo is good as a documentary shot - assuming that only these schools will compete. It seems a bit unfortunate that the year 2013 is not evident. Good strong 1TU but doesn't quite wow me. Bill

My general impression is positive but there are a few things that bother me. I feel that the sharpness is not quite right. It also seems too apparent that a flash fired. Her skin seems overly smooth - possibly natural. The bright area above her head and the fence rail are a bit distracting. I wonder if her hair might have been made a bit less chaotic - my preference, not yours perhaps. The case touching the right frame seems okay. I would welcome an opportunity to see...

In my opinion the original photo was well considered - framing, focus, exposure, DOF. The post processing is suggestive of using the fractalius plug in and I think the degree of transformation is successful. I like the work much more than 1TU and have upped it to 2 TU. The work might generate more interest at artsig.com. Regards. Bill
