A bit "bland" overall with very little to anchor the viewer's eye. The pier itself is quite ordinary as are the beach and sky. On a cloudy and stormy day this scene would be quite dramatic. Regrettably not on this particular day. Cheers, Rick.

Welcome to Photosig, Ahmed. Whilst I do not agree fully with your sentiments, the bars on the picture does bring your message across to the viewer. Technically, your exposure is a bit too bright as evidenced by the blown chest areas and it appears you have over sharpened your image a bit much. Colours are good, though, and the composition works to a degree. Cheers, Rick.

This is beautiful in its simplicity. What a gorgeous photograph. Composition is attractive and focus brings out all the fine detail of the seeds. Exquisite in every way. Cheers, Rick.

Great detail on this closeup, Nicholas. Colour is vibrant and focus is very good. DOF was sufficient to highlight the 'fly's head. Overall a nice macro. Cheers, Rick.

Oh, Larry, I can tell that her smile made your heart melt and you just had to have it captured for posterity. As a "snapshot", as you categorized it, it does fit the bill. As a portrait, though, there are issues that I'm sure you are aware of. The exposure, the setting behind her, her skin tones, etc. all detract from the quality of the image. From one "grandpa" to another, don't they just warm the cockles of your heart?

I guess that the "repetition" is the reflection of the hut on the water. If so, it should have been more complete instead of having part of the roof cropped off. That aside, on its own and without the assignment criteria, it is a nicely seen and well photographed image of a very rural home. Cheers, Rick.

A nice bridge indeed with the correct exposure to bring out the colours of the surroundings. Focus is a bit soft, though, but the reflections of the umbrellas on the water are quite eye catching and a nice addition. By the way, you have a dust spot just above the 2nd building. Cheers, Rick.

Just a tad short of being perfect. The picture lacks just a degree of sharpness but the moment, the setting and your background as wonderful. Your "content advisory" rating is not correct. There is nothing here to warrant it. It is nothing that children do not see everyday on TV, the Internet, books and even in life itself.

Could be an interesting image with the beached ship prominently captured. Technically, though, there is one glaring problem and that is your tilted horizon. It makes it appear that the boat is listing because of it. Cheers, Rick.

The light on the water is very eye catching as are the colours in the sky. Might be my eyes, though, but the focus on the boats and the jetty appears soft. Nonetheless, this is definitely eye candy. Cheers, rick.

Oh, Hector. Reflections are, generally, quite attractive to look at but, mostly, if the subject matter is visible. Not only is that missing here (causing this effort to be uninspired and uninteresting) the lighting is quite poor. There is that dark upper left corner, that is totally lacking in detail, as well as well as that overexposed area near the top of the frame. On top of everything else, there is quite a lot of noise on the water. Hector, am sad to say,...

Impressive hummer, Mike, but the naturally iridescent greens of this bird are, somehow, missing. Perhaps a boost in exposure levels as well as a touch more saturation would bring out the really emerald hues of the feathers. There is, also, a lot of noise that could have been easily remedied with a touch of post processing. Cheers, Rick.

Technically it's not a bad job at all and the collection of objects are interesting. The reflection of the candle on the frame is quite eye catching as are the beads on the table. Wish, though, that the picture in the frame was more discernible and that that tables edge wasn't so prominently placed. Welcome to Photosig. Am looking forward to more of your posts as well as your own critiques of other members' submissions. Cheers, Rick.

Although you good do precious little about that swath of purple behind the beautifully coloured bird, it still competes for attention. Pity, though, as the rest of the picture is very well executed. I love the iridescent look of its throat feathers. Cheers, Rick.

Not a bad effort at all, Carlo. Light may have been a bit too harsh (as you can see on the bee's back) but the BG, focus, and composition are all sound. Cheers, Rick.
