Beautiful capture of her gorgeous blue eyes. I love Siamese cats - my grandfather used to raise them. You've done a great job of making the eyes the focal point of this shot. I understand about the shallow DOF and keeping the nose a bit subdued, but I would love to have seen both eyes perfectly sharp. It seems the focus is more on the cat tower and one eye. Thanks for sharing!

I like the idea here, but it needs a little help. It appears the main focus is on the tree rather than the figure in the red coat where it seems it should be. I think it would be much better if he was right in the middle of our view of the trail rather than off to the right a little. Nice try, just not quite there.

Very cute and nicely captured. :) I think it's fine that his fingers aren't in sharp focus, his eye is and that's really what matters.

I love the texture and lines of this photo. I don't like the shadow on the last canister. Perhaps a little off the top of the frame to cut out the part where the blue meets the yellow of the wall. I think I like it better in horizontal format with most of the upper part of the photo cut out. Very nicely done.

Nice colors and exposed quite well. A bit could probably be cropped from the top. I love how the gate is open, welcoming the viewer. I wish the plant was gone though, it's distracting from an otherwise pleasing photo. The yellow paint on the bricks in front of the plant is distracting too.

The lighting is great, but for a small spot on her shoulder. I would like the pose a little better if we could see all over her fingers, just resting on her hips rather than in her pockets, or maybe just the thumbs in the pockets. A little more room around her would be nice, but it's still a great portrait.

Hi Ashlee. I'd suggest stepping back a little. It would be more interesting to see a bit more of the petals, or at least all of the dark center portion, not cut off at the bottom as it is. Also, the flash is harsh and detracts quite a lot. Either a diffuser or no flash at all would be much better. And it's lacking sharpness as well. I think it would also be better shot from above looking down into the flower. You have a cool subject here and definitely worth another...

I think the tree frames your subject nicely. I do agree that it's way oversharpened. And the tombstones in the front should either be all in the frame, or not at all.

What if you meter for the building in the background and add fill flash (as directed by the previous critique) as needed to properly expose your human subjects? It's hard when people want their photos taken as less than ideal times. Maybe you could have a few examples to show them what it will be like under their desired circumstances and under ideal circumstances to maybe help sway them your way.

I think a higher angle, shooting down more toward their blanket with less foreground would make all the difference for this photo.

One thing I might add to the critiques below... In my opinion, it would be better if there was a more obvious contrast in their expressions with one smiling widely and looking obviously happy and the other looking very mad, to emphasize the whole contrast theme. Either that or they should both have the exact same expression. I also think their earrings should be the same, but one white and one black.

The lighting is very well done and the subtle tones work well. The thing on the sofa by her feet is distracting. I don't know that I'd call it "confident" though. Her pose to me looks protective, even a little shy. She should be a little more stretched out, with her hand out from in front of her belly and her head tilted back slightly, then it would say "confident" to me.

I love it! What a cute idea. :) If their heads had been positioned in such a way as to eliminate the green in the center, it would have been better. Also, as previously mentioned, eye contact would have made it perfect! Lack of sharpness is a problem. Overall though, a very adorable picture.

It's hard to critique this because it's so far removed from the original photograph and not in a good way, IMO. I would love to see the original, because I bet it was pretty good. :) What you have here, however, is just a mess and I can't think of a way to make it right.

Hi Donald. I'm afraid the only thing I can see that this photo has going for it is the pretty girl. Aside from the poor picture quality, the horizon's tilted and the composition is pretty boring. I think it would have been better shot from the front of the car with the mustang emblem showing if you were going for an advertisement type shot, or trying to play up the Mustang, but that's just my opinion. :) As mentioned before, the lighting is very harsh... a little fill...
