interesting subjects,i like how you have toned down the busy background to isolate the dancing couple,in my view i would clone out the shadow just above the guys ankle, easy fix in ps, cheers martyn

in my view i think you need to crop the pic on the left to omit the bit of dress, i used to include radial blur along with motion blur but i found it tough on the eyes, its good to see someone thinking outside the box tho, cheers martyn

i prefer this one,its not perfect (guy needs to be closer to the arrow)but it is funny, rules are made to be broken and this broken rule works, cheers martyn

its a nice picture with the shards of light streaming in but its just lacking something, maybe foreground interest ?,i think even a person with the light hitting them would add, cheers martyn

you did well to bring up the exposure to an acceptable level but in my mind this shot doesnt work, there is far too much of the foreground/body area that is out of focus,it hurts my eyes to look at it,i dont know if you can search on here for tree frogs but there are some pretty amazing ones with more than the eyes in focus, the main thing is to make the picture pleasing on the eye, cheers martyn ps obviously if you want more dof then you choose a smaller aperture or move...

personally i think it would be more apt if the person was walking the other way with the sign pointing to their rear end,yes they would be walking towards the edge of the frame but in this case i think it would work, the crop is ok, i like the shadow, cheers martyn

as michael previously stated a closer crop would work a lot better here, pesronally i would crop to the same amount of space that is behind the girl, that way you get rid of the guy staring out of the frame and the two people who are half in frame,it would also make it really tight (which you need with the top and bottom of the couple being very near to the edges).the catch has come out well with the flash,it would be interesting to know the flash settings,ie was it TTL or...

i think it would have been a cracking shot had you got the dancer in focus and blurred the onlookers by using a shallow dof,its still ok as it is in one sense,it shows how attentive the other dancers are to whats happening.cheers martyn

you have caught the jump well, the background is rather busy and the sky is not looking too good either,i appreciate its an urban shot but maybe if you get chance to do it again you might be able to compose the shot better (knowing what the guy is going to do this time),i think you need to be a little higher up so you can shoot without including the sky,its not easy because the higher you are the lower the jump will seem to be,nice catch tho, cheers martyn ps i agree with...

rick my comment would be its been done hundreds of times before only better, you have three points of interest that could be made to fit on a compositional thirds gridline yet you failed with the crop, sorry if i sound harsh but life is harsh too,i would suggest learn about composition rules then apply them, yup people say rules are made to be broken but not in this case, cheers martyn ps good control of the highlights btw, maybe a little more saturation in the eyes once you...

speaking as a novice (dont do much portrait flashy stuff)my concern would be that the models arm (the chopped off one) seems to be a totally different colour than the models face,it almost seems like it belongs to someone else,i agree with previous critique about the colour clash, there is a table somewhere on the net that shows what colours go with each other for a more pleasing effect, cheers martyn

i like the tones but think about composition, the idea being to keep the viewer looking at the picture, here you have a girl in the corner of the pic looking out of the frame, your eye goes straightaway to the brightest part (her face)then you follow her gaze right out of the picture, far better to place her in the top right hand third, she can gaze all she wants then, cheers martyn ps unsure why her face should be so much whiter than her body ?
