Very nice shot Jim, we all know how hard it is to get your subject just right. This is as good as anything else out there!

Very nice image, caught my eye right away! Another image would rend it's self if the shutter was a bit slower, but it's just a personal taste. Also the rocks at the bottom seem to pull your eyes out of the image. It is however a beautiful image. Great job!

Very nice image. The image captures your attention, maybe just a bit more depth of field but I really like the out of focus look. The Nikon 500 pulls this off. The image seems like I want it to have more contrast or vibrance, but thats just me! Great shot..

Very nice, I enjoy looking at the image, just want to see more. A panoramic crop would allow your eyes to feel like you have seen all there is and bring you back to center. Maybe this is as loose as you could get, but it's still a high quality image.

Very well done, I like all that is going on here. I would have agreed with 3 thumbs, just a very slight issue with DOF, as the tail is just a bit softer than the rest. Thats just to be picky. I know it's tough to get this shot, time and patience so you did well! Great shot

Very well done, i would have to agree that the water at mid frame is slightly tilted up. The comp is good and the use of a cloudy day provides the diffusion to compliment this shot. Personally I like the panoramic crop which adds a bit of drama to the surroundings of the stream. D700 and the 24-70 are so clean with such good color!

Wow, what a beautiful image. I had the opportunity to live there for a few years. The image looks good, perhaps the sky could be more blue, but it looks great!

Very nice image. For me i would like to see it a bit warmer in color temp, but this is a great capture. Perhaps some burning in the corners would add a little separation. Nice work

Gotta jump in with the rest, it's a lovely image. It has both soft and hard aspects within one image. It has the appearance of two images combined. The two directional shadows create a double density and the sharpness of the woman and the lack of detail in the left side of her hair. The portrait style lighting is just over the top for me. Anyway, it's a cool image, and I like it a lot.

I really like the contrast within the image. Soft flowers in a thorny setting. I slight darkening of the right side background would make the flowers pop a bit more I feel. Anyway good job, it's a great image.

Very nice, love the Blue Ridge Parkway. I too would like to see more sky and enjoy a wider angle view. I like the flowers in the foreground and would hate to lose them. Has an appearance of an HDR image which looks good if it's not. Thanks for sharing.

I really like your image. Love the panoramic cropping too. Seems a bit contrasty, tough time of day. Try the same shot about sunset, I think it would be a stronger image. Some enhancements in color and some blue to the sky to balance the image at the top would be some suggestions. Either way it's a beautiful image.

Nice image. I know how tough they can be. Much harder to catch them with leaves on the branches too. It's a but soft, pushing the optics to the limit. The loss of the tail is a slight draw back, but again you get what you can. I like the image, your lucky to get such a nice shot. Thats why the two thumbs!

Very pretty, it's got some great colors. I seem to notice a slight blur as in camera movement. The background is interesting. The D700 does a great job.
