Jaehong, I like the composition and the colors of this picture, but I think that it could have been better with the first flowers in focus. In my opinion they are too important to be out of focus. I find this too disruptive. Apart from that, I like they way you managed DOF.
Hope you find this critique useful.

Kerrie, I like the energy that flows from this picture! Sometimes when you take this kind of pictures it's very difficult to predict the results, but I think you did a great job here.

Catbirds, excellent picture.
I like skies a lot. A big percentage of my pictures are skies.
In this case, I guess you didn't use a polarizer, do you?
That could have helped you a lot to improve the colors, give more contrast and make it even more "dramatic".
Hope you find this critique useful.

frank, i think you could have cropped more from the bottom of the picture, leaving just her face and her hair. This could have given even more strengh to it.
Anyway, it's a very nice picture, the use of focus is also great, and the model is marvelous :-)
Hope you find this critique useful.

Karl, congratulations for this picture.
It's really excellent. Can't think about anything that could have been done better.
Everything is great, details, illumination, use of b&w.
I have a couple of questions:
What lens have you used here? How did you illuminate it?
Regards.

Hi Itzhak, I like the idea of this picture, but I find that green "thing" too disruptive, and takes too much attention (at least, in my opinion).
I would have prefered the picture without it. If you could have taken from a different angle, without it, I think the composition and the picture itself would have won a lot.
Hope you find this critique useful.

Victor:
I think you could have done at least two things, to make this picture better.
First, you should have positioned the plant not as close to the wall, to avoid the shadows on it.
The second one, is that, if the plant was in your house, and there was no wind, it could have been better to use a lower shutter speed, and a tripod, or anything to keep the camera steady.
This would have avoided those hot spots, and also the shadows.
If you can, try taking it this way,...

Scott, in my case, I could tell you that I don't like the statue in front of the building, in the same picture.
I think it could have been better to take the picture of the building from a different angle, maybe a few steps forward and to the left.
This way you would have left the statue and the people of the front, out of the picture, giving more importance to the building.
I know this should have changed completely the picture, and it would look absolutely different,...

Scott, in general terms, I like this picture. Your idea was very good, and macro worked very well.
The only thing I would have changed, is that I think you could have cropped some of the left part of the picture (the whiter one). This way you could have gotten more attention on the center of the flower, without that distracting "white" that calls almost as much attention as the center.
Hope you appreciate this critic.

Jason, in my opinion the hot spot is too strong.
I'd prefer the composition without it.
I think it could have given more strengh to the textures.
In my case, I found it too distracting, and I think the lower right part of the picture is far more interesting.
Regards.

Circle, you're really incredible! I just discovered your masterworks, and can't believe them.
This is really perfect! Wouldn't change anything.
Please, tell us something about the situation, and how you took this picture.
Have also checked your pbase galleries, and can't believe your talent.
Congratulations.
Regards from Argentina.

Circle, I really LOVE this picture!
I can't imagine anything you could have done to make it better.
This is one of those pictures, that make you wish you were the author of it.
If you can, please give some more details on how this picture was done.
Simply incredible!

Maria Teresa, I think your idea about this picture was very good. I would have tried, to use, either a faster speed, or a lower speed, but not the one you used. A faster speed could have frozen completely the movement of the water. On the other hand, a lower speed could have given the water a soft and delicate feeling. The problem with the speed you used, is that you got none of the advantages you could have gotten with a more "extreme" speed, so, the water is neither...

Ilja, I like your picture a lot.
I think the idea and the situation are great.
The only change I could have made, is that I would have pointed the camera more to the left, so that the "road" didn't appear as close to the center of the picture.
This really distracts a little bit, "cutting" it in two.
Anyway, I think it is a very good picture.
Regards.

I agree 100 % with Chad. Would have preferred more DOF. Would have chosen a smaller aperture (maybe 11), or in the worst case, would have cropped the picture leaving the out of focus berries out of it.
Regards.
