Shooting in this season and yet you get a tourist-free picture ... well done !

I wonder why what used to be considered, if not a 'no-no', at least a flaw (i.e. lack of contrast, general washed-out impression ...) has become a widespread trend. It seems everyone has to have a go at it these days. That really spoils the visual pleasure I take looking at such pictures, even devoid of nasty artefacts like the one here.
First shoot (4) smayf/Shawna (4)			from jaypix/Jean-Pierre (27,679) on May 17, 2013 2:01:49 AM CDT (2) Flash was necessary as the li ttle girl was backlit, but used in such a manner it's not very fortunate, as the light is too harsh, too frontal ... also, the horizon leans (an easy fix), and that 'mooring thing' (sorry I don't know what to call it ...) could have been use as a prop (for example, she could be leaning against it, hugging it ...) rather than a distraction. Good sharpness and lovely smile though, albeit a bit constrained ...
