An extremely eye catching photograph. The atmosphere created from the conditions is wonderful, as are the deep blacks which further enhance the mood. But I'm torn between one and two thumbs, as the scene is a little confusing, whether it's an industrial scene (which suits the heavy contrast well) or a landscape.
My eye keeps going from top to bottom, not knowing where really to look. It may be my taste, but I noticed the previous comments were describing something similar.

An unusual shot Charles, even by abstract standards, but it works pretty well I feel. The textures of the surface has come out well and I like the opposing angles. I'm not sure the lighting was optimal, the bottom left is almost low-key whilst the highlights look clipped at top-right, which detracts from the shot in my opinion.
But overall a great idea and most unusual!
Thanks
Robert

Super work Ismail, lovely bold colours and excellent details in the butterfly. It seems your f/9 aperture was just enough to keep it all in focus but giving a nice background 'bokeh'. The defocused thistle spikes are a slight distraction, but it seems unavoidable...keep the good shots coming!
Best Regards,
Rob

Excellent catch Nick. May I ask if this was intentional? Or one of those you spot the backround afterwards? Either way it's really funny! And the aperture seems enough to blur the background just a little..
Their body language conveys the message.

Excellent, Peter! Excellent perspective as the shadows pull the eye towards the subject, the light is great. And not much evidence of flare or lost contrast. I presume by the high iso you had no tripod? Then perhaps a smaller aperture would improve dof and reduce noise but on screen, at this size, the shot looks fine.
Thanks!
Robert

A brave place to be by the looks of things, you've captured a real scene of action and carnage, perfect in black and white. Exposure and contrast are excellent despite the circumstances. Many thanks for sharing,
Robert

I really like this! You obviously have a very keen eye to spot this little composition. I'm curious if you waited a little for the cat on our right to sit up could we have even better pairing? Also, is it worth cropping a little off the right perhaps? [To improve the symmetry.] When I first looked at this shot I wanted to step to the left so I'm more square-on and symmetrical, although perhaps this wasn't possible.
Regardless, its my favourite I've seen on here...

The orange on green colour combination works great, as does the tasteful border which gives this a fine art feel. The greens look pretty oversaturated to my eye. And as others have said there doesn't seem to be enough detail in the flowers. It seems that the flower curves away (?) from the focal plane so no doubt depth of field at such close quarters was tricky. Or it could be poor focus? But the colours are eye catching and this really grabbed my attention.
Cheers!

I like this Jeff...gives me a taste of the 'outback' from my armchair. Think I would have preferred a slightly longer exposure as the whole thing seems a little dark, and as previously stated, perhaps a little more space to show the stark surroundings. The simplicity of the scene appeals.
1.5 rounded up!
Cheers,
Rob

Another great portrait. What a good location in the field of yellow, and the few flowers in front of them really help to 'frame' them nicely. The lighting , detail and depth of field control seem perfect to my eye. I find the pose a little 'snapshot' in nature which is my only reason for not awarding 3.
Cheers

The top half here is so impressive. Perfect colour and exposure to my eye, but towards the bottom, the buildings look unsharp to my eye- especially the central building- and my eye just keeps getting drawn back to it. Colours and exposure of the building seems great though.

Rob

Brilliant abstract Stuart. Those rich warm tones are a feast for the eyes! The diagonal composition works well too, abstract, yet we know what we're seeing.
Love it.

Great subject and I like the tones you captured. I'm wondering if the shot may have more impact if taken from a slightly lower position to draw the eye in. It would also make that (brick?) in the centre of the jetty less prominent. I'm liking the long exposure.
Cheers!

Rob, what a great idea to make a scene like this into a dreamy photograph. I presume this is your local bluebell woodland? It's a stunning location with light to match. Love the starburst sun between the trees, with no evidence of flare. I do like the border and classy title, but I do wish you had posted larger! The most original bluebell shot I've seen all week.
Thanks,
Robert

Good catch Daniel with super exposure on the right side- impressively so. And , wow, no flare! The left side appears a little dark and lost against the right to my eye. I'm not over keen on the composition either, but overall this is a striking image.
Thanks
