Hi Steve, I just went through your portfolio as one of the winter landscapes you have posted was quite interesting.. well I am glad that I did, as I found even more interesting winter landscapes and white-colour dominant images. I really liked this image, it's very elegant, the light has been handled with a big care, and the tree in front conveys a feeling of solitude in a quite positive way. Thanks for sharing. Hulya

A classic balanced composition. I love the merest hint of colour in the background tree in this otherwise bleak scene. The foreground tree is wonderfully frail and the overall mood of silence is beautifully captured. A poetic photo which could inspire a haiku.

It would have been a nice photo without the snow falling. With it though boosts it quite a bit. It has a great dynamic and a good excuse for the sullen sky.

If given the choice between snow or no snow, I would have quickly chosen no snow. But I appreciate that you also found that the falling snow wasn't a distraction from the mood and scene.

Hi, Steve, thanks for comment on my pic and happy to see you in Photosig. This is one of the best moody pic that I ever see. The white winter, with the component of rotten tree and white snow, it can show a cool, sad and lonely feeling to me. Besides, excellent technique of using PS for the brightness adjustment. Well done and thanks for sharing ^_^

A desolate looking winter scene well shot and well composed. The photosop adjustments are well done and really make the tree stand out IMO giving the photograph a bit if a 3-d appearance.

Nice shot. I love the B&W feel it has. I wish that it had been possible to include the entire bend of the river as it would have improved the composition. Comments are welcome on my latest, Secluded Beach.
