Jenn -
Ouch. I really want to love this fantastic portrait. But the blurring problems are profound. Other than that, though, I should say it's a great shot. I love the toning you give your shots, too, thoughout your portfolio. Nicely done. Now about that blur, if you use Photoshop, learn how to make selections and how to add and subtract from them. Learn how the selection mask can make it easy to paint areas you want to select with standard painting tools. Or another option - copy the layer, and put a blur on the upper layer. Then set opacity to 50% and use a layer mask to block out areas you don't want blurred (it's easier to fix a mask instead of just erasing), then bump the opacity back up to 100%. Email me if I can help at all - this photo has lots of potential.

I like the pose and the child is certainly beautiful, but surely you see the problems w/ your ps blur? If NOT blurring to the edges or behind the chair was your intention, then I don't get it. Shot does have potential.
