Your stuff has a nice 50's kind of look. One suggestion, use PhotoShop to blacken down the background. Oddly enough, I do like your images. Creative eye.

Nothing wrong with shooting one for mom -- mom ususally brings the checkbook :-)

Very nice light and I love the way the colors work. Great use of DOF.
