Taking this picture almost got me killed.

I knew some types of photography could be dangerous ... but that's mostly in documentary/journalistic photography, right? Not a nice easy picture of some mountains?

I worked at Cypress Mountain for a couple of seasons. Great fun, hard work, and beautiful scenery. On the last day of my shift, I went off into the oft warned about back country to see if I could find some spectacular photos to take. It was a VERY bright but white day that day... completely overcast, the ground matched the sky perfectly.

So, I found myself wandering along, with a borrowed camera, in my attempts to take some neat pictures. In doing so, I came very close to walking right off a cliff without realizing it. As soon as I did realize that I was standing approximately a foot and a half away from a two hundred foot drop... I backed off as fast as I could without sliding over the edge, then crawled in the snow a little closer to take this picture.

The peaks in the distance are The Lions.

I'll give you 3tu for the effort. Glad you are still alive. I almost did the same on a golf course in the South - almost drove off a 100 foot cliff. I am sure you will never forget it! Please let me know what you think of my Denver Panorama
