I went camping in Yosemite for the New Year ... but unfortionately my brand-new snow chains didn't come with tensioners, and I spent a lot more time taking a wheel off and a chain off the axle than I did taking photos. Still, I managed to get a few...

I'm going back -- better prepared -- before the snow melts. I'd really appreciate some comments on how I could do photos like this better. When I finally had time for photography, it was pretty overcast, and I know having more time to wait for better weather should make a huge difference in my images. There's a little bit of clutter at the top and bottom of the frame, and I should have walked around more. What else?

I must agree with Adam. The rest of the mountains and the trees will give better composition instead of the small part.

Good shot, but I wonder whether you couldn't have enlarged the field of view somehow. When I look at this photo, my mind wonders more what the mountain looks like, or what the rest of the forest looks like rather than focus on the subjects in this photo. BTW, why use a macro lens for this shot? Is it the only 100 mm lens you had? Personally if you were going to shoot with a 100mm lens, I would have made it a horizontal shot rather than vertical. The shot itself is very beautiful, though! :-)
