As a man that lives in this country Canada I believe your shot reflects very well our landscape in Winter. This picture seems warm compared to our recent temperatures of -40C with winds of 37k/h.Here in Ottawa, Ontario.

Nice BW work...sharp, detailed and good tones. Curious where it was shot. I live in Muskoka and took a very similar shot on Mary Lake near Port Sydney last winter. Is it in Muskoka?
One minor criticism. I think a more narrow border would work better.

Excellent. The only thing I would change would be to crop the right hand side. The backgrounds to left and right are not balanced, so don't try to make them so, move the island rightward in the picture. I wouldn't try to include any more from the left. It looks like another island is just out of picture and you would end up with 1/2 (?) island, which would detract from the excellent job you have done.

Strong, high-contrast landscape. You have successfully convey the cold, desolate winter in this photo. I just wish you took 1 more step to the left before pressing the shutter. I'd like to see the rock on the left in full and the island right in the middle for balance.
