Had you been able to hold the exposure on the top of the image it would be very interesting. Right now the blown highlights pulls this image down. A ND-Grad filter or HDR would be your options.

Nice catch but needs some work on the background which is rather over exposed in the top center area and along part of the stone street.

First critique well points out the deficiencies. I believe this would be a candidate for a B&W image with better potential than your color version.

This old alley could be interesting. There is a lot of detail and texture on the wall and the cobble stone path. The vanishing point could be the center of focus. But unfortunately, the blown out hot spot on the top totally destroyed and distract the attention. I would be tempted to bring the top crop just above the door and eliminate the top entirely.
