This is a great capture of a very shy animal. They sure are busy lil fellas, that's for sure.
Good color and detail here. Heck, you even have a catchlight going! The only thing that jumped out at me was the blown out end of the stalk. Quite minor in an otherwise great frame. Good stuff Lorne!

Good focus on the muskat and I like the natural colors Lome. I am a fan of natural settings for wildlife shots, but I think I would crop down some from the top to reduce the complexity of the background some. If this is a crop consider adding some room on the right so that the tail is not cut off. Did you use a polarizing filter in this shot? For a shot like this IMO reducing the reflections in the water might improve the presentation. TFS, Nick

Hi, Lorne, I think that this must be a very tricky photo to get at all! Somehow, though, I think that the muskrat has to be separated out from its environment. The piece of wood (?) it's carrying helps, but the rest of the muskrat dissolves into the muddy water, and it creates, for me at least, a somewhat chaotic-looking photo, without a strong sense of composition.
