It's a cool image, maybe just a bit more contrast or clarity for more separation in "the fire" . The formation works well. I like it! Seen one like it on Peter Lik's website ...

An extremely interesting image. It seems though to be rather softly focused (or noisy?). I'd like to see a more sharpened version, which would bring the various kinds and levels of details in texture and coloration into greater relief and reduce its overall homogeneity, or I should say, more positively, increase its heterogeneity. But nevertheless, very striking!

it sort of looks like a fire, but i suspect it's what it appears to actually be, a rocky formation with some man-made brick/block work attached. because the whole photos has a red-orange cast, i can somewhat see how you got the idea of the building on fire.

It's a Pueblo ruin built into the face of a cliff. Between 10:00 and 12:00 the sun reflects off the nearby canyon walls to create the effect. Do a Goggle search for Mule Canyon, UT for more information.

Hi Jon. Thanks for posting this image. I agree with some of the comments above, regarding a desire for more contrast in the image (I would be curious to see it in B&W as well). However, I like the concept of the fire and the way the shot was framed to create that effect. I visited these ruins, several years ago, and I have to admit that I did not "see" the landscape the way you have portrayed it here. Your shot made me think about my visit, and it reminded me that I need to look with a more creative eye. Thank you.
