you should really make this a vertical shot. crop in a bit from the left, and a lot from the right, then crop the entire dock area off the bottom, then it will frame the four supports in a diagonal formation in your vertical shot.

I think you have kind of left us in transition. The amount of the pier in this composition appears to be more an afterthought than a true contributor to the photo. I would suggest more pier at the bottom to really provide a stronger foundation to the photo. The black and white tonality is very nice.

Nice Idea Bas-But I suggest you crop the bottom and some of the right.When we don't see the wooden part of downside ,we can travel in imagination-but when we see it travel would be finished!You are a brave photographer.Good luck.
