A very fine portrait but for the symmetry marring fad you've succumbed to by eliminating the top of your subject's head . Something rarely seen in work of master portrait painters for the reason I've alreadt st ated . Not that photographers need to march in lock step with painters , nevertheles , they do have much to teach us .

I love this picture and the character shown. In B & W looks very good. A good focus, contrast. Well done job!

Nice shot Dena-good sharpness & mood.My suggestion : clone the pin and darken the left-down triangular part of her dress.Good luck

There is not a single thing I would change about this shot, the tones are perfect, the expression is great, the focus and detail are spot on...well done Dena!!!

That's a lovely image. The hint of a smile makes this otherwise strong woman look sweet. The light is handled perfectly and the tones nicely come through. Just wish the safety pin below her cheek was not there.

Fabulous. What an extraordinary face to photograph. I really can't find anything to quibble with here. The focus is perfect; the exposure is perfect; the skin tones are perfect; the face is framed wonmderfully by the black clothes and the jet-black background. I'd say the crop is ideal, with just enough of her attire to set off her face, but not too much.

Makes me wonder how much an 85 L or 135 L lens would have added to image quality ?
