I am interested in thoughts regarding this image, particularly aspects of its saturation and colour temperature.

Wow what a stunning shot. I love the warmth of the sun in the grass and on the tree on the right.

Stunning, makes me want to get out there and shoot some HDR images myself. I wonder what a panoramic cropping would have looked like! Well done.

Thanks Rex, the pano option is also quite good I think, it does however lose some of that nice grass on the side.

A very nice shot indeed Gerard, with very good control of HDR. I would humbly suggest adjusting color balance in PS by adding some magenta, around -3 or -4 in all ranges, to warm image up a little. I really like the detail on the left side but the reflection of the sun on the lake is spotty and overexposed. An adjustment in layers by using a percentage of the darker exposures in that area might work for a fix. The cloud coverage worked in your favor to give more interest to sky and waters reflection. Looks like a great place to be! Regards, Bob

Cheers Bob, i will have a look at those suggestions. I agree with the issues regarding teh sun, however i find trying to actually show the details of sun throws teh brain out a bit, i tend to expect to see some blown highlights in a sunset image like this, again thanks for the feedback.

What a glorious scene given great impact by the judicial use of HDR- The water looks deep and cool whilst the sunbeams burn and bounce off the vegetation- all topped off by a great sky. Saturation can be such a personal thing, I think it works well here- we should'nt be tied to absolute realism- that would have been bad news for various schools of painting.Photography should not be a poor relation - and I'm not exactly known for using bright colours! Cheers, Rambling Gary

Hi Gerard, I love the light, warmth, saturation and colour in this shot although others will probably disagree. I want a pair of glasses to wear that I can live my life in these colours and light. To me this is what photography is all about - remembering things slightly richer than they probably were! Not a bad way to live! Kind regards Louise

Thanks Louise - i think it is a bit over saturated, however the scene did represent those nice warm tones and the dynamic range when viewed thru my eyes ;) maybe a bit rose coloured :)

This is a wonderful play of light. The setting sun's golden ray backlighting the weeds on the right. Beautiful sky and nice reflection. All the elements to be an excellent image.

Thanks.
