Thanks Gorge. Yes she is beautiful. I think even more so than the males which have the ruby throat.

Beautiful birds...very nicely captured with excellent blurred background.

I've never really done bird photography, but have tried my luck at moving objects and it's almost impossible to capture something moving 100% in focus, when it's moving, especially something as fast as Humming bird in flight.

You have some soft areas which is to be expected, but the detail on the face, natural color throughout is very pleasing to the eye.

Thanks Donald. I'll keep trying to get the whole bird in focus except for the wings of course. I have lots of settings yet to learn get used to on my camera.

Great job on this one, Laurie. Sharp focus on the eye and a satisfying amount of motion blur on the wings. Good clear background and isolation of the subject. Colours are also pleasing. Central composition isn't usually recommended but I think it works in this case. Regards, ~Jon

Thanks Jon I tried not to get her in the cneter position but had to crop out the feeder part which then made her more centered..lol

The simple composition, sharp eyes, pale but creamy pastel colors and the nice frame are the elements I liked in this photo. I wish the tail should be sharp also, but this is a fast bird. A good and calming photo. Thanks for the sharing.

Yes, tecnically very very good! Bud indeed, the subject is getting more and more boing... The contrast between subject and background is a little less in my eyes, too.

Hi Laurie, An excellent shot. It is sharp, clear and you have motion in the photo. The background makes the bird pop.Allover just a good photo. TFS Seppie

Thank You Seppie. I am quite proud of this shot. I've done many and only a few so far have been to my extreme liking. LOL

This is very good on so many levels. The only reason that keeps me from giving 3 thumps up is that I am fed up a little of this kind of shots. I publish my photos on several websites like this one and this bird is very popular on most of them. So it's not really the problem of this photo, but I have seen something like this many times and now I'm in the state when I need something more to think "wow, this is special" than the flying humming bird. Hope you understand. But again, great photo.

Yes, I understand Tomas. This is my first try with these little birds. My point and shoot camera just wasn't up to par for the job so when I finally got a DSLR I had a camera that is. I also wish to get different shots of these birds but sometimes it just doesn't happen often enough. And I sit outside for 3-4 hours at a time and by then my arms are so tired. and my hands get so numb. possibly carpel tunnel. which I sure don't need when trying to do photography. LOL Thanks for the input.

Thanks Sam. she wasn't as afraid as the males that are coming in. Just before this pic I had to blow into the feeder holes to make sure they were still open and she came and fed from the feeder as I was holding it in my hand. Only inches away from my face and only mm from my hand.
