For me, this has turned out brilliantly. The backlighting and warm tones are superb. Detail and sharpness of the poppies is great too. I like the vignette effect around the dge. Perhaps getting in closer so a couple of poppies fill the frame more may have helped? Regardless I like this very much. Best, Rob

strictly based of of lighting and where my eyes traveled I give you high marks. You captured my attention and lured me right to those lovely red flowers...

The backlighting of the subject is very good idea. The subject are quite attractive with the hairy lining and the deep red flower. But there was still too much light in the mid range so the subject is not totally in the darker background to pop. You may ask someone to hold a piece of board to block out the lights hitting the middle distance.

Nice shot Roxxie, and I agree the lighting was great for this shot. You also achieved good focus on the critical parts. Just a little bit more DOF would have been nice, but that may be personal taste. TFS, Nick
