Taken in a tiny village in the Mekong Delta Vietnam on market day. All she had to sell for the day were these yams. I think her expression said it all. A hard life I think.

Hi Gray,
Your note takes us to the specific point but all the suffering has finished after the war and they are not in war now, all they are thinking of the revenge as every human think after disaster as the result is nill of all those killing and bombing, you have the ability to capture the true expression and feeling of your subject and brought the history in record, TFS.
Regards and wish you a happy weekend,
Musa, Quetta, Pakistan.

Her curious mix of eastern and western clothes, the odd jumble of artifacts around her speak of doing it tough. But she doesn't look despairing, just bored. Perhaps her life isn't so bad after all. She's at work and bored, like many of us. I hope you bought some yams, and didn't haggle over the price.

Gary, technicaly this picture has it flows (composition at first glance), but you also capture a moment, or even more, a deep feeling, persisting that put you down, powerless. Keep in mind the composition and, for this kind of shoot, a BW approach... cheers!

The picture is a bit over saturated and tight to my eye. However it was composed well, and surely you caught the moment that the lady revealed her "tough life". Lengthen slightly the either side may get stronger impact on the picture.

Dear Garry, as you said, the photo speaks to us, express her situation finely. Her pose is good and you captured her nicely. I just feel the composition can be improved by giving more space to the right and bottom side. TFS, Mehrdad
