Great shot and an excellent exercise in breaking the rules to success. The blown highlights are entirely appropriate here and used with well to balance the detail-less shadows. The eyes are both perfect and nicely sharp drawing all the viewer's attention. Great intense expression makes this a "serious" image. Love it.. well done.

Well, spot on my friend.

I love the high contrast and overblown highlights, the simple composition and feathery collar. The strong expression of your model is the icing on the cake. Keep up the good work!
