I agree with previous comments. Maybe that was photographed horizontally but it was a difficult moment and to manage at the moment. Excellent meant ...!

The picture is nice and sharp where it needs to be and has captured the efforts and exertion of the riders well. The main problem here is that the crop is just way too tight leaving no room on either side from coming or going. There may well be reasons for this cropping but it leaves the viewer with an uneasy and incomplete sensation. I really don't think this situation calls for the portrait format as the upper third adds nothing to the image but distraction.

The movement was almost proceeding in a "parallel" way and thus gave a rhythmical feeling to the pictrue. However, the background is too busy and both the sides are a bit tigh as well. Blur the background more might be helpful. I am not sure the real scene but I think it may perhaps be more appreciable if catching it in a horizontal angle.
