Ooo which visitor center in AZ is this?
Very good especially for a midday-ish shot. Great control of the light avoiding hot spots...kept the cacti is wonderful focus...and love the differing angles of the shadows on the columns.
The only real issue is the lean to the right...feel like i'm sliding...lol. I think maybe able to adjust that in PS. Worth a shot.
Compositionally very good...just wonder if possible to capture more of the inner curve...but looks like you were already on the edge of the outer curve so maybe not.
Excellent photo...thanks for sharing it

Part of Saguaro Natl Park near Marana. I straightened the shot.

Nice idea captured here! Geometry is below stellar, though. I wouldn't even mind lens distortion have you placed your camera in postition to have at least one dominant horizontal line. Remember that vertical line is guideline to move, and horizontal line is base for standing. Spectator needs to have something horizontal in order to stop for a moment and develop perspective from there. You don't have such point here despite the effort. Optical illusion makes this sloped more than it really is.
Also, introducing such harsh light usually brings out dominant colors: you might want to increase saturation in yellows and put some strength in those lines that way.

Joe - this image makes my heart ache: you've captured my home, a stomping ground from too many years ago . . . I've spent countless hours out in that desert, day and night, far before the modernization of the Visitor's Center . . . (The desert was much more pristine and unpopulated then.)
Ah, as for a critique: well, beyond my strong bias in favor of the setting, I am troubled by the leaning intrusion of the pillar at the right edge of the frame; I'd either attempt to straighten it or eliminate it altogether (the latter would be my preference). I adore the dark banding of the shadows and how they rhyme with the distant saguaro; I would've liked to see this taken from a slightly lower angle, which would accomplish two things: the summit of the peak in the middle portal would be included, and it would add even greater emphasis to the powerful stripes on the concrete surface (and, in fact, all of the arcs would be more acute).
All in all a fine image, and one I'll certainly remember for a long time!

The play with light and shadow looks great, well seen. Good lighting for tis. The composition is fine, but the disortion is a bit disturbing, that's a pity.

Interesting work, Joe, beside you very well captured here this play of light and shadows. Vertical frames works well here. Maybe only I would prefer to try to correct a little the vertical to the left (see the vertical of this window on the left side). Well seen and great find. Regards, Michal.
