Hi Nick. Great photo of this Egret, beside his pose is captured well here. In my opinion croping this image into this format works well here. Regards, Michal.

Sharp and good detail seen on the egret Nicholas, light is not totally favouring to your shot but you have managed well on the exposure. You might have used shadow/highlight tool in your post processing, I can see some dark glow around the edge of the egret. Composition wise, the bird is too centered, may add a little more space on the left.

Thanks Edwin. I would like to add more to the left as well, but he was so close when he took off that he filled the frame to that side. I just cropped in a little from the right to balance the distances. Nick

If you have photoshop, you may add the space on this shot since it is simply grey in color without complicated detail all around. If you want to know how it is done just let me know your e-mail.

Hello Nicholas, Nice photo! White birds are hard to photograph but you have done a nice job on this one. Nicely composed and nice feather detail on this bird. Nice all around photo! Thank you for sharing! Jim
