If you look closely you can see the reflection of the stamen on the body of the fly, which I thought was neat. ISO 400, f/7.1, 1/2000 sec, hand-held

Hi Nick. Great close-up photo with very nicelly captured pose of this working Bee as well as details. Good lighting and sharpness. Maybe only Bee's wing could be more in focus, hovever it is a matter of taste. Regards, Michal.

Kudos for using a real live insect! Interesting color and overall composition, yet this image lacks in a few places. I think it would be awesome if the DOF was deep enough to have the entire critter in focus - the head is enough out that it's a distraction for me. The hint of wings is good IMO since it's a live animal and wing movement conveys the act of flying. Great color and detail in the parts of the flower that are within the DOF.

it is neat, I hover between 1 and 2 thumbs due to the lack of wings detail, but rounded up for a different looking bug shot.
