Is a good effort, maybe a bit too much uninteresting green leaves in the front, but what is not working here is the main subject, which is supposed to be the child. Since he have rock around, you can barely figure out what is there. If you didn't named it Childs... we would have never seen it. Is too small, and as I said, surrounded. I you made him move to the left sand bank, or waited until he returns, it might be a winner.

The picture is a bit under exposed, as well.
