For some reason I found this plate of left over croissant bits and pieces could be used for a photo subject, so I took a few shots. Here is one of them, please comment.

Thumb-down Thumb-down    from chrskyes/Chris (52) Send mail to this user on May 19, 2012 9:30:44 PM CDT (2) Early critique

Good job deleting this photo and reupping it. Now it's twice as bad. Take a little criticism and stop being such a poor sport. I noticed you changed the text, yet you didn't improve the opacity of it. Photo is still as boring and uninteresting as ever. I'm sorry but going around and deleting pictures because you don't like what you hear is really, really lame.

I dont care about my rating.. I dont do that just to get rid of the negatives... just that I actually like this picture alot. So I try re-upload it and let other viewers see it. But thank you for your honest comments... I recently got some pretty bad comments about my framing, title and email.. but I had been doing this for a long time and I was trying to keep it consistence.

If honest, then fair enough. And don't feel bound to consistency! Each shot requires unique attention so do what feels right for each one. -apologies and regards chris

Also I agree that the subject is uninteresting.. But what I was trying to do is to make something uninterested become interesting.. Many people can take a good photo in front of a nice scenic view.. I personally think that I have achieved what I wanted to do.. That's why I like this shot very much.. haha.. I am sorry I keep on blabbering about this.. I am not trying to convince you but just to let you know my original intend.. Thanks again.

I also adjusted the level of the blown area on the fork.. cuz it seems over exposed before..

Hmm, I don't know. Not really appealing. And the frame with title and email address is horrible and unnecessary. For me, I mean.

Quality of comments has really gone down on this site.. A more constructive comment would be nice.. Go around giving thumb down on pictures you don't like doesn't make you better.. Perhaps you could suggest something that could improve this shot??

I did, but you deleted your image and reuploaded another version. I knew I already critiqued that image. Somehow my critique was not there anymore. It turned out you deleted it. It looks a bit better now, but still is uninteresting, and will remain uninteresting until you do something about it. I don't rate thumbs down until there is a reason for it. I always always try to thumb at least one for any image I critique, unless I see a definitive failure, like in yours.

My advice is to take negative critique with humility and learn from it. If you'd made a work of art in the first place, you won't be getting negative critiques from start. I had mine, and I appreciate the sincerity. Or do you simply love to get pats in the back for anything you do, no matter how crappy they are? I've seen your images in Photosig, and in your Wedding portfolio, and you have great work. But this one, forgive me, it does not ring any bells for me.

Remember critiques are personal opinions. They are not a rule book or saint word, is simply an opinion from an outsider. And is good to have critique here, because you can really tell the emotions your images can produce to people you don't know or potential customers.
