This is simply an excellent exposure. Good use of two lines (poles vs ridgeline) emphasizing the vast empty space of a low tide. Great control of the tones and textures and I think the low horizon/sky line only helps that sense of feel. So any suggestions will be simply subjective I think. Technically the shadows could be raised a bit while being careful to not bring up any more highlights would be nice but not essential. Composition wise...maybe a lower pov to catch that first pole in it's entirety which would in turn increase the feel of the empty bay. That would mean shifting the pole line a bit to still capture the ridgeline as you have which and create a slightly better balanced feel. Either way this is a simply outstanding shot as it is.

Hi Sjaak - I like this shot, especially in B&W. Its nice and clean and sharp. As the previous poster suggested, the shadows could be improved in PS. One thing I would like to mention is the composition; the two-thirds rule I think could have worked well here in order to balance the shot a little better - in other words, if you had showed a little more of the sky, possibly by getting closer to the ground when taking the shot; that way it would also have reinforced the strong line on the poles. but nice shot!

These poles are captured here in good perspective. Beside point of view in this work as well as you made this photo under a good angle view, even if a part of this pole on the foreground is cutted it isn't so important here. Maybe only try to use Shadow/Lighting option in PS because it could help you here with add more brightness for some dark areas on poles. Regards, Michal.
