A good try Joe, composition looks fine and I think the pinky background beside the tree is working well for the blue jay to pop up. The light appears a little harshed like a flash light was used and I see a purple fringe around the back of the bird, seems you had a very strong backlight in the situation.

Thanks,I did use a speedlite on camera.Didn't see the purple fringe. I will go back to the original raw file and take another look. Thanks again for you'r help.

The bird is very nice but the important part of the photo that is the this head far from the scene, does not look at the photographer and the part of the tree is too big in relation to the bird. Return to try it. Regards

Thanks for you'r help.I tried talking sweet to this bird,but could not get it to turn around. I left the tree as is because I didn't want to crop the tail. Thanks again,Joe
