Honestly, I can't understand some of the comments made by people here. Sometimnes i think their idea of art is of the dogs playing cards. The branches put the arch in context and breaks up what otherwise could be a monotonous photograph. The fact that the arch reaches the top border of the photograph gives the print drama that it wouldn't have if you didn't do it that way. Great photo.

Hi Ronald. I agree with you about the branches, they give balance to the composition. However, people have different points of view and not have to be equal to yours.

I assume this is the Arch of St Louis? nice way to present the structure, the fog makes it, not sure if I like the tree limbs, but does give it some scale, I would bump the contrast some.

Thank you for your critique, I took several photos in that location some included branches and some did not. After some contemplation the branches made the final cut. Regarding the contrast: it is bumped slightly from the RAW file, I'm surprised my camera captured as much of the arch as it did - very thick fog that day! Regards.

Hi Les,

Great black and white photo of sculpture? in a park. I want to click a minus, because the copyright words are too large. I look first on the copyright and then the image, I really it be viceversa.

p.s. why put the copyright on top left edge?

do you mean why not put the watermark on the top left? Besides, I typically place the watermark on the lower right hand side. And I truly am sorry for placing the watermark anywhere on the image. I just logged off facebook where once again someone cloned out my (small) watermark, added some text and called it their own photo. So, I must make the watermark large and at least somewhat difficult to clone out. Thank you for your critique.

Particularly, I would like to see this picture cropped from the right side and square format, but that is obviously a matter of personal taste. It has an abstract look that I love. Regards, Rosario.

Really great. I think the arch disappearing into the fog is well captured. It would have been a tricky exposure, but I think you got that right. Having the branches on the left really put the arch into perspective and give some much needed contrast, but I agree with the previous review in that they are too close and detract from the arch rather than complement it. The fact that they extend down the entire side of the image seems too much to me. Having them protruding in only at the top and left would balance that part of the image where the arch disappears. But let not this one criticism detract from a really great shot. Keep up the good work.

Arch which a part of dissapearing in fog, well seen and captured view. However due to the fact that there are some cutted branches in left side of photo I would prefer to try to make few steps to the right side. Up part of this arch is situated very close to the up border, I would prefer to see a little bit more free space between up part of arch and up border. In my opinion add more contrast could help here. Regards, Michal.
