Bhaktapur, Nepal... Dashain is the 15-day national and religious festival of Nepal. The festival is closely related to Navratri celebrated by Hindus in India. The festival falls around September-October, before the rice harvest. This festival is known for emphasis on family gatherings, as well as on a renewal of community ties. People return from all parts of the world, as well as different parts of the country, to celebrate together. Dashain in year 2010 started on 8th October 2010 and this picture was taken on the ninth day, the Navami. Bhaktapur, an old city not far away from the capital Kathmandu was incredibly colorful that day, with music bands performing music in the streets, families visiting the courtyards of temples and offering presents, children playing, elderly gathering in groups to sing and play… That was truly an awesome festival to experience… Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dasain Cropped, applied Neat Image, increased brightness and sharpness.

The innocence of her eyes is captivating. I keep coming back to this image. I feel it draws me to it. Very successful. I like the toning as well.

Timeless. Her face is completely captivating. The sepia play right into the mood of the image, along with the softness of detail. Very nice cropping, tight so the face is introduced close-up to your viewers. Wonderful DOF with background diffusion. But, that face and its expression are the essence of the image and the reason it deserves 3TU. >TED

Beautiful face well captured and isolated from the BG Erdem. Excellent eye contact and I do like the toning of the image. Have you thought about introducing some noise and adding effects to try to make it look older? You could make this sort of a timeless shot.

The level of sharpening is good on the face but I don't think it works quite as well on the fine hairs. But, you could selectively blur those hairs a bit and achieve the desired effect. Overall, a quality shot. Regards.

Natural expression on face. Good eyes contact. Very good portrait work. However I would prefer to try to reduce a little brightness partially from face. Eventually you can try to set faster shutter speed. Regards, Michal.

good portrait. i am a bit disturbed by the necklace being cut and by the lack of focus on the dress but i do like a lot color balance and face. She seems a bit surprised by the photo.
