Shot in morning light.

I directed the diffused sunlight so that the prominent petal in the center would glow from the inner illumination. The full image doesn't cut the leaf on the right, but for pSIG I wanted to show the bloom in more detail than the full frame would have allowed.

Nice shot David, made special by the lighting. I really like the colors and the water droplets add interest. For this presentation of the image consider cropping in even more from the right to where the stem curves up, or cloning out the partial leaf and stem down to the two complete leaves. Nick

Thanks for your comments and suggestions, Nicholas. I did consider that crop, but decided against it. Maybe it would have worked better.

The pure black background sets it off nicely. Very fine loveliness in this with that delicate flower. the sharp focus of the smallest details and the bright light are good. Excellent composition, I love it.

Hi David a good capture on the colourful rose here, with good clarity and detail and nice colour tones. Particularly like the overall sharpness on the rose head but more dof might be good as the slightly oof stems don't seem to work and you might crop in more from the right up to the first bud and leave more space to the left - regards, Colin
