I find the whole arrangement very appealing - the gesture of the guitarist, the curves of the guitar case and the straight lines of the amp form interesting contrasting shapes and make a gentle triangle which keeps the eye on the subject. The sunglasses on the wall are a nice touch too. The blue of the sea is a fine complementary backdrop to enhance the colour of the guitar.
I think that the dark blue wave shadow under his right elbow should be lightened a bit, and the light shape on the bottom right edge should be cropped or cloned out.
I can almost hear him tuning up :) Your photo made me curious so I found a YouTube video of him playing Pachelbel's Canon, and the sea made a fine accompaniment.

thank you Elise,
I will try your photo suggestions, but I first must find a possibility to change the photo on photosig without loosing the comments.
And yes after your comment I also looked on youtube and also enjoy Pachelbel's Canon.
I took this picture a few weeks ago at the beach of meloneras (Gran Canaria)
where we stay several times a year and he is playing there almost every day at least the past 7 months
Regards from the Netherlands
Arno

It could be a fine portrait, if the head was a bit higher, so we can see his face. Good lighting (colours/sharpness and a fine composition, but you have to turn the picture a bit CW.

Thank you. I try to turn the picture CW. The problem is that in that case the lower part is not straight.Perhaps you are right that a straight wall would be a better solution. Rgdrs Arno
