Cropped from the bottom to emphasize the arches. C&C welcomed.

From the Neglected page: Great idea to get close to the cathedral and shoot up, to concentrate on those arches.

I wish the person who set up those lights was a little more sensitive, though---that stone needs warmer lighting. You could crop even more, of course, to remove the lower lights completely. But that would leave so much darkness in the frame.... maybe if you'd taken the shot earlier, while there was still some light in the sky, there would have been an interesting contrast between the deep-blue sky and the stonework, and a little more light on that stonework too.

A symmetrical "pose" works well in this sort of shot, but in this case it isn't quite symmetrical, which annoys me a little---the backlit cross on the top of the main arch is not quite centered on the facade behind.

Hello Louise, and thank you for taking the time to view my pic. I agree that taking the pic during the day would render a different perspective, alas my 130hr weeks give me little time during the day. Pic was cropped high up due to the poor homeless people sleeping on the doorway of this wonderful structure. And yes could have leveled it a bit more! Best regards!

no no.... not during the day... during those magical moments after sunset but before it gets full dark.

And leveling wasn't the issue---if you'd moved just a smidgen to your right, the cross would have been superimposed symmetrically over the window behind.
