I love these guard towers on old forts. But this one is just too bright to be taken seriously for its (possibly mysterious) past. A darker photo would have added drama as well as some detail. Is the fort/castle on the shore? If so, an angle that showed the water would add to the implied story of the structure. From the bright sun and the angle of the shadows, I realize you were not there at the ideal time of day. But perhaps you could play with it a bit in post-processing. Cheers!

You have a good subject, with all of that detail in the stone. However, your composition minimizes the structure. All of that blank, blue sky adds nothing to the photo. While we are discussing the sky, it is very bltchy. It appears that your processing was not able to render a smooth color gradation. The bright sunlight gave you exposure problems, as you have areas of heavy overexposure. Most particularly, the left portion of the tower lacks any detail, due to overexposure. If you have the availability of taking more shots of this subject. think of compositions that better emphasize the building, and be mindful of your exposure.

I think you overworked this image a bit to much. The detail in the stone work could have been great, but you lost a lot of sharpness and detail. I think this is a crop from a distant shot. Looks like you also brought up the lighting levels in the shadow areas, which I think would look better darker to improve contrast. Lastly you can see noise in the sky from all the post work.

Lot of nice details in the stone, theset structures are so interesting, but tough to translate to photo, its how to create a composition that makes it have more of the structure of the fort, in inclusion of the moat, or een the background with inclusion of stactic objects like a canon, so, nice photo, just not enough subject imo.
