I know it could be difficult in an indoor situation (this is in a zoo, right?). But this image is very soft, either from movement, or a little out of focus.

No this is not in a zoo. These are the true colors of a Cedar waxwing their colors are very pale.Thank you for looking! Jim

Jim, I think you did as well as you could with the composition, but I do not like this critter looking into the branch. Sometime we have to take what nature gives us. However my biggest problem with this image is that it is too soft, there is very little feather detail. With the equipment you are shooting with I would expect much more detail. How much was this cropped from the full frame? If this is a very tight crop from a larger initial image, this could help explain the lack of detail. Exposure is good with expected details, I like the highlight in the eye. Keep shooting and thanks for sharing, Gary

nice signature :), oh,,the bird shot is pleasant too, seems just a bit flat on my monitor, like you could bump the contrast up a hair, and, perhaps your critique ratios also?
