Taken with a CHDK enabled Canon PowerShot - added some fill light in Picasa, that's it. Tree is on Donner Summit, Truckee CA

very nice shot Colin. The foreground and the tree are very nice. Is the background suppose to be tilted to the left? There is a dark spot in the sky just above the middle of the tree. You could clone this so that it matches the rest of the sky. It almost looks as if you cloned something. Very nicely done 1.5T

I like all the slants in this image, with foreground going in the opposite direction of background and slanted tree seemingly in the middle. I would suggest suggest a crop at the top about halfway down from the tree top for improved compositional balance. I particularly like the soft grayish tones of color that injects the feeling of silence and tranquility. The tree is beautiful! Very nice capture Colin! Regards, Bob

This has almost an etherial (spelling?) quality to it...beautiful. The interplay of the rocks and the ice around them is really neat.

I like the composition of this picture, beautiful. The lighting gives also fine colours. The view looks great, well seen.
